Jets - 23 - Banshees - 8
Jets - 24 - Saracens - 13
Jets - 25 - Harlequins - 7

Crawley Jets have now played a total of 5 games and won all 5. 100% clean sheet. Great Job everyone

The competition saw the four teams participate in a total of six games, displaying wheelchair rugby in all its glory as five players on either side battled it out before trying to score. Each contest saw the reinforced wheelchairs tested to their absolute limits as players from every side engaged in some ferocious collisions.

Even the smallest players were flying into duels, taking huge hits and coming out unscathed – fear, it seems, doesn’t even register to those that play wheelchair rugby.

The Crawley Jets were the more experienced side and utilised superior teamwork to produce a wheelchair rugby master class. They won all of their matches and did so with class and style, before taking time to share tips and knowledge with their opposition.

Wheelchair Rugby 5s is a brand new discipline of wheelchair rugby. The WR5s Summer League runs during the Super Series off season, meaning that wheelchair rugby is played throughout the year.

Wheelchair rugby is seen as one of the greatest success stories to come out of the London Paralympics, going from strength to strength. It’s without doubt one of the Paralympics’ most thrilling events – full of drama, action and high-impact collisions.

For those thinking about getting involved, the limits to how far the sport can take you are endless. You can play and train at a social level, meeting and making new friends or you can compete in the WR5s Summer League, and progress to the top division, the Premiership. The sport can be whatever the participant wants it to be, it can be taken very seriously and players can dedicate a large amount of time to it or it could be a hobby that is used for socialising. It is really down to personal preference and what the participant wants to get out of the sport. Those also eligible for the Paralympic discipline can also aim to represent their country at the Paralympic Games!
