U8's Show The Crawley Spirit!

Today, despite some knock backs the under 8's showed true spirit. This season has seen a of mostly new players get together and learn how to perform as a team.
They started off well with a 5 all draw against Hove there were some excellent Tries and great defending, Crawly were ahead for a lot of the game with Hove equalising just before the final whistle.
Our second match was against Horsham, a formidable team, we lost 6-2. The team tried their best and there was some excellent defending but the opposition had some lucky breaks and came out the winners.
The under 8's didn't let this defeat get the better of them and after a pep talk went straight on to play Haywards Heath. There was some great defending by us matched by some equally good attacking from the Heath and ultimately they came out the winners at 6-2.
We played in the Plate semi-final against Hove, there was some real team work with some brilliant forward attacking, running straight through Hove's defence scoring 8 tries we were ahead for a lot of the game. There was some excellent tagging and although Hove won it was a very close 8-9 score.
Crawley under 8's were defeated by Haywards Heath A in the Plate play off. The first half we were doing really well and it looked like we might win, however the opposition pulled it out of the bag to win 8-4.
Overall the U8's did really well against some very good opposition and although we didn't win there was some exceptional team work and they are improving every week. The coaches, manager and parents are all extremely proud of our little people and we know they are going to get better and better. Watch out Uckfield the Crawley U8's are comming!
