Today we welcomed the visit of Belmont School (from Dorking) to participate in training with our U10's.
After our initial first weekend of training last week the boys were keen to build upon the skills they'd learnt so both clubs were mixed together and split into two groups comprising of newly registered players & existing players to give a fair balance. Both groups then took part in warm up exercises and skills practice before putting their skills into practice as a collective towards the end of the session.
Belmont's U10's are a team of players that have trained on a regular basis for 2-3 times a week for the last 2 years, and their knowledge of the game was evident but that did not deter our boys or their commitment to the session.
The contribution made today by all the players from Crawley RFC new and old, against these seasoned players was encouraging for the future and we are looking forward to our visit in a few week's time to the Chichester Festival (on 4th October) and to our home festival on the 11th October 2015 at CRFC where our boys will have the opportunity to show off their skills.
We can still register players all season long, so if you're in school year 5 and watching the Rugby World Cup and thinking 'I want to have a go', then come along to Crawley RFC and meet your new family - we look forward to meeting you!
