I’m incredibly honoured to be named Club Captain for Crawley RFC. I want to thank the coaching staff and management for placing their trust in me – it’s a responsibility I take with pride. A big shoutout as well to Higgins for his leadership last season; he's left big boots to fill.
A bit about my journey: I first picked up a rugby ball at Crawley RFC aged 10. I turned up to training not having a clue what I was doing – but I was hooked from day one. Since then, I’ve played through every age group, represented Sussex from U12s through to Colts, and in 2007, had the incredible opportunity to tour Australia with the county side. University rugby followed at Portsmouth, where I played 1st XV, before stepping up to senior rugby at a number of clubs. I returned to Crawley last season and immediately felt at home again.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of captaining several teams to successful campaigns, and I truly believe we have the potential to do something special this season at Crawley RFC.
With fresh energy coming from both players and our new coaching and management team, I know we can push forward together. Our supporters, committee, and the wider club already sense the momentum building.
I promise to lead with integrity, passion, and by example – and I won’t back down in driving this team toward success.
But no captain leads alone. For us to reach our goals, we need to invest in one another, on and off the pitch. That means trusting the systems, training with intent, and always backing ourselves and each other. Above all, it means playing for the badge and playing for the team.
So, I ask every one of you – players, coaches, supporters – to match that commitment. Buy into what we’re building, bring the right attitude, and believe in what we can achieve.
The season’s ahead of us – and I’m fired up for what’s to come. Let’s get after it.
Let’s make this season one to remember.
