Season Standouts: Crawley RFC Ladies Celebrate Player Achievements

Season Standouts: Crawley RFC Ladies Celebrate Player Achievements

Sergio Rodriguez21 Jun - 11:00

We’re proud to recognise three players who’ve made a serious impact both on and off the pitch

From breakout talent to unshakable leadership, here’s to the players who’ve gone above and beyond in 2024/25.

Breakthrough Player: Lisa Gross
Lisa joined the club at the start of the season and wasted no time making her mark. As our youngest player, she immediately turned heads with her natural athleticism and sharp rugby instincts. Having only played the game at the school level, Lisa’s rise has been nothing short of impressive.

What’s stood out most is her fearless tackling and relentless energy. Game after game, she’s brought intensity and determination, setting a high standard for those around her. The future is bright for Lisa, and we can’t wait to see how far she’ll go.

Coaches’ Player: Steph Barnett
In a season that’s tested everyone, Steph has been a rock. Quietly going about her work, she’s shown exactly what it means to be a team player – putting the needs of the squad first and stepping into a brand-new position without hesitation.

Week in, week out, she’s delivered consistent, solid performances and never once looked for the spotlight. Her attitude, reliability, and ability to see the bigger picture haven’t gone unnoticed. The coaches are unanimous – Steph’s commitment has been immense, and we’re lucky to have her in the team.

Players’ Player: Toni Smith
Toni is the heartbeat of this team – no two ways about it. As co-captain, she leads with passion, grit, and a drive to always improve. Her work rate is off the scale, and she gives absolutely everything each time she pulls on the shirt.

Loved by her teammates, Toni’s the glue that holds the squad together – always pushing herself, always encouraging others, and never one to shy away from the dirty work. And when the game is done? You’ll find her rallying the team at socials (usually with a pit stop at Bar 7!).

Toni’s energy, commitment and leadership make her a player everyone looks up to – and this recognition from her teammates says it all.

? Well done Lisa, Steph, and Toni – and thank you to all the players, coaches, and supporters who’ve backed the team this season. The hard work continues, but it’s players like these who make Crawley RFC what it is.
