Coastal Clash and Local Derby Await CRFC Seniors
The Crawley RFC senior men's squads face two stern tests this Saturday, 8th November, with both teams kicking off at 2:00 PM. The 1st XV travel down the coast for a famously tough fixture against Seaford, while the 2nd XV make the short journey to contest a fiery local derby against St Francis.
The 1st XV trip to Seaford is rarely straightforward. Known for their resolute home performance, the conditions at Seaford's ground often play a crucial role, promising a physical battle up front. Our lads are prepared; training attendance has been fantastic, with consistently strong numbers (25-30 players) focused intently on defence and set-piece solidity. This dedication has paid dividends, with the squad showing a genuine understanding of the coaching team's objectives. They will need to bring all of that hard work to the pitch to secure a positive result against a well-drilled Seaford side.
Closer to home, the 2nd XV's trip to St Francis promises local bragging rights and a highly charged atmosphere. These local derbies are about more than just points; they are a vital demonstration of club pride and competitive spirit. It is particularly exciting to note that both senior squads will be handing out debuts this weekend, showcasing the depth and progression of talent within the club structure—a testament to the strong community and commitment shown by all players.
As always, the club spirit travels, and the players thrive on seeing familiar faces cheering them on. Whether you're heading to the coast to brave the elements with the 1st XV or making a quick dash to Southgate for the local skirmish, your presence makes a massive difference. We urge all supporters to make the effort; come and see the results of the hard work being put in on the training pitch and give the new debutants a proper Crawley welcome!
Good luck to both squads! Play hard, play fair, and represent the badge with pride.
