Lewes Rugby Team arrived at a sunny Crawley with the excitement of a friendly before the team take to the sky’s for Jersey next Sunday.
Crawley were on the front foot straight away with two early try’s from Leo Jackson and Reece Comber, it looked like Crawley were in control and keeping Lewes at bay but Lewes eventually drove down the Crawley defence and scored three quick try’s to turn the game on its head.
Crawley carried on battling but couldn’t break through and Lewes scored another three try’s before half time.
Crawley in the second half carried on pressing and were unfortunate not to score at least two try’s which could have possibly changed the game.
As the match was heading towards the final eight minutes Lewes scored two more try’s making the final score: Crawley 10 Lewes 40.
Crawley never gave up and showed positives when things were going against them.
Well done to Leo Jeffries for man of the match award.
A nice touch from a couple of Lewes players who said Crawley have been their toughest opposition to date this season so far and had not conceded any try’s before today’s match
To everyone going to Jersey next Sunday have a lovely time it will be a great experience
